The Tax Payers Alliance (TPA) begin the countdown to the General Election with their ‘Debt Clock Tour’, which starts on Monday 12th April in Central London.
The tour will encompass a 1,300 mile trip around the country featuring a seven metre long, lorry mounted ‘debt clock’, ticking up as the national debt increases. The campaign has a simple but direct message for the nation’s politicians: “Wake up to the National Debt!”.
The Debt Clock will tour around the whole country, stopping off at national landmarks and key cities to raise awareness of the national debt amongst the taxpayers who will have to pick up the bill for politicians’ reckless borrowing, and needless to say the display will be counting up the nation’s debt at a breakneck speed of £5,168 per second!
