The flooring retailer Floors-2-Go have gone into administration following news yesterday of a cash crisis at the company.
A report in today’s Independent says that the administrators were forced to close 41 of the 135 stores operated by Floors-2-Go with immediate effect resulting in the loss of 97 jobs.
The flooring retailer has become the latest high street casualty this year, following the demise of discount book seller The Works, furniture retailer Ilva and shoe shop chain Dolcis.
Kroll partner Fraser Gray said: “We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone involved and would like to thank customers, suppliers and employees for their continued support throughout the administration process.
“Retailers are battling a particularly hostile trading environment at present, and it is clear that the pain is being felt acutely in the home improvements sector.”

I am not surprised this has happened. Men at the top in chauffer driven cars whilst the teams in the stores are on low basic pay. Too many chiefs and not enough indians bringing in the sales
