Government plans to create a super casino in Manchester have been dropped , it was announced by Culture secretary Andy Burnham in Parliament this week. Plans for sixteen smaller casinos have however been given the go ahead. Mr Burham said that there was ‘no consensus’ about building the super casino.

Tate & Lyle are set to become the largest UK company bearing a Fairtrade logo on its products, with the announcement of their commitment to making all of their retail products, Fairtrade, by 2009.

Study finds almost 4,000 companies run by criminals

Figures issued by Data Specialists Datanomic have revealed that almost 4,000 financial criminals, terrorists and disqualified directors are running UK businesses.
Datanomic screened the Companies House register of 6.8 million companies, directors and secretaries against World-Check’s database of ‘high risk’ individuals and organisations.
